Our Firm

A Reputation for Results in Personal Injury

Representing Injured People Since 1999

When Mark Steven Avila and Tali Shaddow founded the firm in 1999, they brought some very unique resources and experience to the table. Mark had been successfully representing injured people since 1993 and was in the midst of a sky rocketing plaintiff's practice. Tali, a "big firm lawyer," had been successfully defending the interests of multi-national corporations since 1992, and was ready for a "compassionate" change in the direction of her career. A fateful lunch got the two lawyers talking about their respective practice areas and careers, and ultimately the significant advantage that a union of their forces would bring to California's injured people. As a result, the firm was born.

The Firm's Message

From day one, the firm's message to the defense bar was "We fight tooth and nail for our injured clients and keep coming after yours, no matter how hard you try to distort the truth, and no matter what you throw at us!" Good old fashioned hard work, investigation, winning motions, stellar advocacy, trial readiness and practice, not only produced significant monetary results for our clients, but earned us a reputation as rock solid, smart attorneys who demand fair compensation for our clients and who won't back down unless our clients are fairly treated.

In any business, reputation is a major key to success. Thus, while former client referrals are indicative of a job well done, perhaps the greatest compliment a firm can receive are case referrals from lawyers that the firm has opposed or defendants that the firm has beaten. At Avila & Shaddow, we regularly receive both types of referrals. At the end of the day, who benefits from our reputation? You do. With Avila and Shaddow on your side, you can rest assured that whether your case is valued in the thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of dollars, your interests are our interests and that we won't forget that you and your family are the ones who matter most.
